Eduardo Saverin Invests in Startup That Only Rents Silver Audis
Eduardo Saverin made his billions as one of the co-founders of Facebook. But for a man who help pioneer the modern era of social networking, Saverin sure does hate talking to other people. According to Forbes, Saverin was the lead Series B investor in Silvercar, an app-based car rental company that only rents out silver Audi A4s, specifically because the company keeps him away from other people:
Saverin, who called himself "a very prolific traveler," said he first encountered the company when he used it as a customer. He was impressed by his ability to rent the Audi without needing to talk to or interact with a human.
"With traditional companies, it was a high human touch, paper-based process with a bunch of upsells," Saverin told Forbes.
Every person strives to spend less time in lines. But Saverin doubles down on the creepy MBA-speak when talking about the simple process of human interaction.
"Clearly one of the places [Silvercar gets] you closer to a quick process is through lowering the human touch," Saverin said.
Looks like "low human touch" is climbing up the list of sociopathic Silicon Valley buzzwords.
