The Best Way to Protest That Ultraconservative-Funded Hackathon
It could’ve been a techno-libertarian love-fest, but the Koch-funded Liberty Hackathon made an immediate bad impression on Silicon Valley. Even after switching venues, it looks like even some of the participants decided not to take making apps for "economic freedom" seriously.
Unfortunately, our tipster photog tells us, the hilarious, and hilariously un-serious “Project Save Detroit” didn’t win—it looks like it could be promising. Pushing for software solutions to actual problems is a terrific idea, so maybe next time the event's organizers won't award prize money from one of the most despised political entities in American history.
