As a startup founder, it's nuts to me how few questions prospective employees ask re: equity grants when negotiating comp. You can truly just throw out a number without any context (i.e. total shares), and they'll just go with it. I make a complete point of spelling out the equity grant contextually in offer letters #humblebrag (and I tend to rethink hiring people who don't know to ask these key questions). So, TL;DR people should more educated about this (and it's not just limited to asking questions on # of shares — it's also about making sure that on change of control, etc. you're not screwed over equity-wise). But calling this a "Rosa Parks moment" undermines this whole effort. Boo.
