Intel shut down a Russian-language developer forum for fear that the site might not comply with Russia's law about bloggers, GlobalVoices reports. The law requires companies that operate big websites to store all user data in Russia and make that data available to the FSB.

Intel's shutdown is not a big deal, unless you're a Russian software developer. What is a big deal is the implication that this move has for big companies like Facebook, Twitter and Google. Some believe the law may end up driving those companies out of Russia altogether.
