Tumblr's David Karp Describes His "Incredibly Enabling Parents"

After high school dropout David Karp turned Tumblr into a $250 million payout from Yahoo, lots of parents around the world are probably looking to duplicate the recipe. Here's part of it: let your kid have and do whatever they want.
Karp spoke of his parents' (material) permissiveness last night to Charlie Rose: he got the toys he wanted. He even got a car in Manhattan. Now he can buy several small portions of Manhattan. He's mostly gracious about the whole thing—even uses the word "privileged"—and his parents do sound like they were supportive of Younger David. But it's easy to be this supportive when you can afford to be.
