If you thought semi-professional Civic chauffeurs had it bad needing to juggle both Lyft's and Uber's apps, regular taxis have it worse. Here's a cab in San Francisco with five dash-mounted phones.
What for? There's the usual on-demand dispatch apps such as Curb and Flywheel. But there is also a phone displaying a picture of the Golden Gate Bridge? And let's not forget the litany of other devices cabs keep stocked for metering and ad sales. These are the lengths cabbies have to go to stay competitive.
Truly, it's an amazing time for technology. Hopefully you didn't want to look out the windshield.
