We also pay out the rear for everything..pay high california income taxes..and get dollared to death for everything from parking to high gas prices..BUT..our weather is great..our home is as liberal as it gets..believe me..its worth it..i wouldnt live anywhere else in the world..
Politicians dictate all that, most of which are liberal.

Which just tells us that they pushed the poor people out, while paying ridiculous housing prices that leave them not particularly wealthy, but just conduits for large amounts of cash to fly in from paycheck and out to the bank for the mortgage. What I find really interesting is that when you take the cost differences into effect, tech workers are actually much better compensated if they don't live in northern California.
