Court Date Set for Michael Arrington Rape Accuser

Jenn Allen is sticking with her allegations of rape and assault against TechCrunch's kingpin emeritus Michael Arrington, despite a defamation lawsuit over the claims. Now we know when it's all going down.

As it stands now, the two won't square off in court until October 20th of next year—and the discovery process, wherein details of their relationship will be aired, won't complete until summer of 2014. In the meantime, she's still very publicly continuing her story:

I think it'd be pretty funny if every article that mentioned Michael Arrington from now on had in parentheses "alleged rapist." Then we'd get gold like this:

The point is that for days, Arrington, alleged rapist, kept the topic front and center, including by quizzing some tech royalty, like Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg and Yahoo’s Marissa Mayer, whose companies apparently have cooperated with the super-nosey government spy agency."

Is this something appropriate to be discussed on this site? Why don't you do something more useful and go interview the "homeless" man the dude is claiming to teach coding to do and verify that he is in fact homeless and what his story is. That would be a better way to spend time than putting criminal filings as something as personal as rape is for both the accuser and the accused. It is really distasteful. (counting down to the petty banning)

This will be interesting to watch. Defamation cases are really tough to win and the ultimate defense to defamation is truth. There's gotta be an analogue case out there to see what likely outcome will be. Tawana Bradley, maybe. But this is different.
