As the sun began to rise in New York, Katie Clark-AlSadder, Senior Account Manager at SHIFT Communications, broke my heart: my press credentials to Disrupt 2013 are revoked for no reason. It's time for the healing to begin—but what'd we do wrong?

I have to say, Katie, I'm a little confused. I'd registered in advance, my papers were all in order, and I'd even talked with some colleagues over at TC about it. We were all looking forward to it. I was hoping to cover one of the most important startup conferences of the year, and perhaps invest several dollars in promising candidates in Disrupt's Startup Alley, like "App In The Air, a Mobile app to explore airports." I know we don't always see eye to eye on things, Katie, but isn't that what a press credential is for? To go to a thing and write what you see?

What are you guys afraid of? It was your idea that we come back in the first place!

Plus, you said I could come! This is so not fair.

I even received a second confirmation email, for some reason.

Then, without warning, this:

Not a word more. Couldn't TechCrunch have told me they didn't want me to come instead of some flack? Who is the "we"? If I invite you all to my birthday party, will you even come? Wasn't blackballing us six years ago enough?

Hoping to hear from you soon,

Sam
